Thread vein removal (also known as spider vein treatment) is a safe, effective, and minimally invasive procedure designed to reduce or eliminate small, visible veins that commonly appear on the legs and face. These fine red, blue, or purple veins can develop due to genetics, hormonal changes, rosacea, pregnancy, ageing, or sun exposure.
What Are Thread Veins?
Thread veins — often referred to as spider veins — are tiny blood vessels that sit close to the surface of the skin. While they are usually harmless, many people choose to have them treated for cosmetic reasons, as they can affect confidence and skin appearance.
How Does It Work?
IPL delivers controlled pulses of broad-spectrum light into the skin. The light is absorbed by haemoglobin within the blood vessel. This converts to heat, which damages the vein wall, causing it to collapse and seal.
The body then naturally breaks down and clears the treated vessel over the following weeks.

- Downtime – skin may feel warm or slight redness for a few hours
- Treatments required – approx 4-6
- Aftercare – avoid heat for 24hrs eg sauna, hot showers, excessive exercise. Sun exposure limited for 2 weeks.
